Arup Deb joined TCS in the year 2007. He completed his studies from Holly Cross School, Agartala. He has done his MA (English) from Tripura University. His father is Sri Arunendu Deb and mother is Smt Uttara Deb. He has worked as Deputy Collector and BDO. At present he is posted as Under Secretary of Home Department, Government of Tripura.
Q ) Tell us something about your schooling and education.
A) I have studied in Holly Cross School, Agartala. I passed Madhyamik from Holly Cross School, Agartala. by in second division and Higher Secondary Examination from the same school in first division. I have completed BA from MBB College. I have has done his MA (English) from Tripura University. I have also done LLB from Tripura University.
Q) Do you have any job experience before joining TCS?
A) Before joining TCS I have practiced law.
Q) What was your medium of Instruction in the TCS examination?
Q) What was your rank in the TCS examination?
A) 19th position.
Q) What were your opitional papers in the TCS examination,2007?
A) Political Science I, Political Science II and Geography II
Q) What was your total score in the exam including written and personality score?
A) My total score in the exam was 507 including written and personality test.
Q) How you have prepared for your optional papers?
A) The last three months before the written examination was really a time for effort and adherence. For political science I have read the reference and text books. I have gone through different books written by well known writer.

I took coaching from School of science. The class room lecture on geography at School of Science was really helpful.
Q) What is your greatest mistake?
A) I gave much time for the preparation of GK paper. This has disturbed my other subject. One should be balanced in his preparation for TCS/ TPS. Each and every subject is important.
Q) Comment on the syllabus of TCS/TPS.
A) Good and well organized.
Q) Have you taken any help from any coaching centre?
A) Yes. School of Science.
Q) Any suggestion for the future candidates.
A) I think selection of optional papers needs to be made a bit earlier and preparation in that direction ought to be taken up in well advance. GK and current affairs should be studied on a regular basis .One should be well informed about the international relations.

A) A major portion of my success in this examination goes to the following persons: My parents, my wife and teachers.
