Sri Dhirendra  Chandra  Acharjee(Educationist)


Sri Dhirendra Chandra  Acharjee is one of the most renowned Educationist of Tripura. He needs no introduction. He had started his teaching profession in the year 1961 at Ramesh  Higher Secondary School . He taught in the same school for more than 42 years. He was born in a poor family in the year 1942 AD. His father was Sri Mahendra Chandra  Acharjee  and his mother was Smt Taranga Prabha Devi. He passed his higher secondary examination from  Khowai  Government  Higher Secondary School. Then he did his graduation(BSc) from MBB College. He was  the most popular teacher of Udaipur Locality. He took great interest to teach his students. He motivated students to study hard. The present Chief Minister of Tripura Sri Manik Sarkar was his favourite student. He played a great role to teach the lesson of life to the present CM beside teaching his own subject.  He is best  known for his extraordinary  scholarship and simplicity. At present he lives at Udaipur with his wife and younger son. Read this interview to know more about  the extraordinary life of Sri  Dhirendra Chandra  Acharjee.


Q) What is your definition of happiness?

A) I find happiness in the wellbeing of all people.


Q) Who is your role model?

A) My teacher Shri, Nipen Chakraborty. He was the teacher of of  Khowai Government High School. He taught Mathematics, Science and Geography.


Q) What was your dream as a child?

 A) To become an academician.


Q) What is your vision of a perfect society?

A) A society based on Socialism.


Q) How do you spend your free time?

A) By reading books of Mathematics and thought provoking book.


Q) What is the happiest moment of your life?

A) When I was present as the Chief Guest of the book releasing ceremony of “Atit Diner Smriti” a book written by my most favourite     student Manik Sarkar,the Chief Minister of Tripura.


Q) Do you have any god father?

A) No.


 Q) Who is your most favourite author?

A)  Rabindranath Tagore  and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.


Q) How do you relax?

A) By reading books and gardening.

Q) What do you dislike most in you?

 A) My inability to control my anger.


Q) What do you dislike most in others?

A) Indiscipline.


Q) What is your favourite phrase?

A) Live for all.


Q) How do you like to be remembered?

A) As a good man.


Q) Which TV show do you like most?

A) Entertainment programme those are related with theater.


Q) What motivates you to do your best work?

A)  My inner voice.


Q) What makes a job enjoyable for you?

A) When my loving students cooperate with me at the time of teaching.


Q) What is your greatest strength

 A) Success of students.

Q) What is the most difficult situation you have faced?

A) When my younger brother passed away and when my elder son failed in his first business Venture.


 Q) Who is your most favourite film star?

  A)Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan and Uttam Kumar.


 Q) Who is the greatest thinker of the world?

  A) Karl Marx.


Q) How do you handle pressure and stress

A) By perseverance.


Q) What is your advice to young generation?

A) Make your environment free from any kind of  corruption.

Q) Who is your most favourite leader?

A) Manik Sarkar, the Chief Minister of Tripura.

Q) What is your greatest nightmare?

A) Communal riot.

Q) What is the greatest challenge of our country?

A) Poverty is the greatest challenge of our country.

Q) Who influence you the most in your childhood days?

A) My father Late  Mahendra Chandra Acharjee.

Q) Which foreign country would you like to visit?

A) Bangladesh.

Q) What brings tear to your eyes?

A) During the time of release of book “Atit Diner Smriti”  written by my  student Manik Sarkar, Chief Minister of Tripura

Q) What is your philosophy of life?

A) Man should love man.

Q) What is your success formula?

A) Hard work and struggle.

A) Let us work together for the betterment of our human civilization.
