Tripura University introduces new dimensions to aspire young talents

Agartala,06August,2015:Three new dimensions have been introduced in Tripura University to aspire the young talents so that they are being nurtured well for a good future, said Governor of Tripura and Chief Rector Tathagata Roy today.Three new courses comprising of MA in Kokborok, B. Voc in Rubber Technology and B.Voc in Film and Video Production has been official inaugurated by the Governor of Tripura today at Maharaja Bir Bikram Shatabarshiki Auditorium, Tripura University.While addressing the august gathering of students, research scholars, faculties and university administration officials in the inauguration ceremony at auditorium today Governor Mr Roy stated, old minds when come in contact with the young minds, it will rejuvenate the sphere of learning and knowledge among raw students in these courses.He emphasized on the Kokborok course that is newly introduced in the Tripura University and this course will be deliver immense knowledge to its students as well as nurtured in the state. This course will enrich the young minds very much.Secondly, Chief Rector said that the Rubber technology is a very important subject in the present day scenario and the state has a bright future in rubber. Rubber is emerging as a money speeder. However, environmental problems should be given due importance and should be balanced along with the need of development.Thirdly, the Governor hopes for good future of young talents in film and video production. Moreover, the young talents have a craze for representing his native land in the national level and with such courses they will be able to shine in the days ahead.Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University Prof Anjan Kumar Ghosh asserted the students should strive to the new courses and curriculums introduced in the university. Kokborok is an ancient vernacular of the state and Northeast India. It will enrich to bring new talents in the state.Joint Rubber Commissioner Dr CS Nair stressed that this new course of B. Voc in Rubber Technology will really has a new venture and a new system that will lift up the skills of young minds and talents in the state.Rubber Plantation helps in three dimensions and they are- to rehabilitate the jhumia cultivators; to provide sustenance and livelihood through a long crop for number of years; and to generate employment. The state has 70,000 hectares of land under Rubber Plantation scheme, six percent of the total area is covered with this plantation and 44,000 metric tonnes of rubber is produced every year, he added.The state government focuses on the development of industries and Rubber Park in the state. While near about nine industries already approached. Such course will help to generate employment among the youths in the upcoming days. It is an employment opportunity to the aspiring talents of the society, Mr Nair asserted.While speaking to Sunil Kalai, Assistant Professor of JMC department, Tripura University, it is learnt that he will be the Coordinator of Film and Video Production and the Assistant Coordinator for B. Voc courses. He said, ‘B. Voc will turn person into profession.’Renowned threatre exponent in Kokborok Nanda Kumar Debbarma and Coordinator of B. Voc programme R K Nath also spoke in this programme.
