Storm racks Panisagar and Dharmanagar
Agartala,6May,2017:Devastating storm hit out at North Tripura district tonight at around 11 pm. Entire Dharmanagar town virtually shivered under the impact of the storm and plunged into darkness. The storm lashed out at the district for the second time within 24 hours.On Friday night one hour long cyclonic storm of devastated Panisagar subdivision uprooting large number of big trees, bringing down electric posts and wires on road and damaging houses.Different areas of Deocherra, Ramnagar, Tilthai, Dhupiband, and Panisagar Nagar Panchayat were affected by the storm. Local people alleged that the administration remained silent spectator when affected people went for help once and again in last night.However the DSP came forward responding to the appeal and extended helping hands.Meanwhile local people resented the role of SDM Subhasish Bhattacharjee. Sources said, elected panchayat member of BJP and workers rescued Pramodini Sabdakar and Panna Rani Sabdakar whose homes were completely damaged at early morning today. Subodh Nath Choudhury of Ramnagar passed the night in broken house in water logged condition along with his disabled nephew Loknath Choudhury and his mother Arati Nath Choudhury. The administration had no response to them although they sought for help. Nobody went there to rescue them till 12 p.m. today.
